Lifestyle segment with Jackie
Not how I normally present myself.
However – I felt this message couldn’t wait and I didn’t want to lose the fire I felt.
You see this morning I was out running and started thinking about the hundreds of emails I’ve received in the last few months that all began with this similar phrase:
I want to dress sharp, but…..
…..I don’t want to stand out.
…..I’m worried what other may think.
…..all of my friends – family – co-workers dress in T-shirts and jeans.
The more I thought about it the more I realized the root of the problem is not clothing – but rather an inability for these men and women to be themselves and express it.
To truly have style you must have the courage to step up and become the man – the leader – you know you can be.
Dressing sharp today requires the courage to be yourself.
It requires leadership.
Because if you wear a suit that fits you well, you will stand out.
If you dare to don a pocket square, you will be different.
If you rock a sport jacket with denim and boots, you will get a second look.
But that’s OK – in fact, it’s a great thing.
Because it means you know who you are and you’re willing to be that person.
Be Yourself – Everyone Else Is Taken.
You are the only you – accept that, and draw strength from it, your history, and what you are able to accomplish with the gifts you have.
Remember – style is nothing more than the polish on a diamond. Style doesn’t make you who you are – it instead allows your inner strength to shine for all to see.
Go out there and be the man you know you can be.
